Many existing house mansions have been “renovated” to maintain or create their appearance as funeral mausoleum, colonial barns, or classical museums. The inside “renovations” are still expected to be very modern and have all the latest technological marvels. It's like jamming a futuristic styled Masaurati inside an antique horse and buggy. The results are sadly the same. People laugh at an owner not only because of bad taste, but who’s also been taken to the cleaner’s with greatly inflated costs. Of course, the resulting renovation is uncomfortable, annoying to live in, costly to operate, and an aesthetic hodge podge of styles to stuff modern conveniences inside.

Reality is that funeral mausoleums, colonial barns, and classical museums were originally built at a time when there were limitations in construction technology and the absence of modern conveniences desired in today’s homes. That’s not to mention owners who think just because they have money, they know more than professional architects, engineers, or interior designers about design. The sad reality is they’re unsuspecting sheep ready to be fleeced from their money. Unfortunately, there’re still plenty of unscrupulous architects, engineers, and interior designers ready to agree to any renovation a client wants while they inflate costs, “steal” the clients’ money, and laugh all the way to the bank.
