Renovating?

It’s one thing to preserve a historically significant residence. It’s intended to be a museum. It’s quite another, to build or renovate one to look like a historically significant structure. Inevitably the inside “renovations” are often expected to be very modern and have all the latest technological “Smart Home” marvels. The other option is to try to conceal all these technologies within the reproduction design. The results are sadly the same. People laughing at an owner because of bad taste and that they’ve been taken to the cleaner’s with greatly inflated costs. Naturally, the resulting renovation is uncomfortable, annoying to live in, costly to operate, and an aesthetic hodge podge of ugly styles and modern conveniences stuffed someplace.
In the real world, funeral mausoleums, colonial barns, and classical museums were originally built at a time when there were limitations in construction technology as well as the absence of modern conveniences desired in today’s homes. There’s also the situation where owners think just because they have money, they know more than professional architects, engineers, or interior designers about design and aesthetics. The sad reality is they’re unsuspecting sheep with little knowledge of materials or furnishings, little or no contact with suppliers and are ready to be sheared like sheep and fleeced from their money.
Unfortunately, there’re still plenty of unscrupulous architects, engineers, and interior designers ready to agree to any building design a client wants while they artificially inflate costs, “stealing” the clients’ money, and laughing all the way to the bank.
Architectural Design Partners, Inc is different. We design contemporary renovations for mansion homes, not houses. Our homes are comfortable to live in; have state-of-the-art Smart Home amenities; have modern interior furniture and finishes created to enhance a family’s lifestyle; and are in harmony with their landscaped site. We have access to hundreds of thousands of suppliers, most of which clients are not aware of. We’re able to buy materials and furniture at substantially lower costs than retail and pass the savings to our clients.
The questions we still ask is why do clients want to pay inflated costs, try to live in an uncomfortable house instead of a home, or be laughed at behind their back? Do they really think they know more than us with 50 years of historical study and building design experience? We have a modern home solution, let’s talk.
