New House or Renovating One?

Often mansion houses are built new or “renovated” to maintain or create the appearance as funeral mausoleum, colonial barns, or classical museums. It’s one thing to preserve a historically significant residence. It’s quite another, to build or renovate one to look like a historically significant structure from the past. Inevitably the insides are often expected to be very modern and have all the latest technological “Smart Home” marvels. The other even more silly option is to try to conceal all these technologies within the old fashion design. The results are sadly the same. People laughing at an owner because of their bad taste and that they’ve been taken to the cleaner’s with greatly inflated costs. Naturally, the resulting renovation is uncomfortable, annoying to live in, costly to operate, and an aesthetic hodge podge of styles with modern conveniences laughingly stuffed someplace.
In the past, funeral mausoleums, colonial barns, and classical museums were originally built at a time when there were limitations in construction technology as well as the absence of modern conveniences desired in today’s homes. There’s also the situation where owners think just because they have money, they know more than professional architects, engineers, or interior designers about design and aesthetics. The sad reality is that they’re unsuspecting sheep with little knowledge of materials or furnishings, little or no contact with suppliers and are going to be sheared like sheep and fleeced from their money with unnecessarily inflated costs.
Unfortunately, there’re still plenty of unscrupulous architects, engineers, and interior designers ready to agree to any new building design or renovation a client wants while they artificially inflate costs, “steal” the clients’ money, and laugh all the way to the bank.
Architectural Design Partners, Inc is different. We build new or renovate existing mansion houses to homes. We design and build new contemporary mansion homes, not houses. Our homes are comfortable to live in; have state-of-the-art Smart Home amenities; harmonize with their landscaped site; and have modern interior furniture and finishes created to enhance a family’s lifestyle and be appropriate to today’s world. We have access to hundreds of thousands of suppliers, most of which clients are unaware of their existence. We avoid “trends” and create timeless and comfortable place to live.
The questions we always ask are why do clients want to pay inflated costs, try to live in an uncomfortable house instead of a home, or be laughed at behind their back? Why do they think they know more than us with 50 years of ongoing study and national and international building and design experience? Are you ready for a modern home renovation solution or a newly built home instead of a relic from the past? Let’s talk.
